HOMELY PLANET ON VILE JOURNAL
I seem to have let this blogging thing go... after five years of ferociously posting, something's happened.
Is anyone reading anymore?
I used to get tons of comments on this blog. I could FEEL it getting read, but now, like a sad, discarded toy, I sense that it's floating in the ether, far away from inquisitive eyes. My partner in crime Scouser comes along, but aside from him, it's perty qui-et 'round these parts.
That's my fault more than any, since if I had something more compelling to say, more people would be reading. I also blame another culprit:
Facebook.
Since signing up for facebook a year or two ago, it has gradually consumed more of my time. And A LOT of people who used to come here and read my blog, can now see it when it's imported over there - which isn't really the same, now is it? This blog loses a lot of its power when viewed on facebook, and it just doesn't LOOK as cool.
I also used to get a lot of traffic from pusanweb, but they've changed their blogroll for the worst. Again I'm imported over there (when I tag it), and any comments left must be done so at THEIR webpage - which people gotta register for, and get a password, and jump through a bunch of ball achey hoops that NO ONE wants to do.
Maybe this is for the best. I'll keep this blog around but I do have a lot of other outlets these days, and not all of my writing is meant for public consumption anymore.
I appreciate those of you who have stuck around, though.

I did read your posts on facebook before reading them on lj though so that would also tell you how things are shifting and changing. Facebook's interface is so damn smart.
One LJ trick that works for me is finding a Community that may be interested in the specifics of your post. Join that community and post it there. That seems to draw feedback perty well.
I do post a lot to the travel writing community and have come in contact with a number of people through there.

Re: multiples
Facebook & Twitter are for sound bites. Facebook will eventually go the way of Friendster, Tribe, etc. A new one will arise to take it's place. All because people continually get butt hurt when they've been "unfriended" because of divorce, loss of job or whatever else and are forced to move on to rebuild a community after they've burned their bridges elsewhere.
Twitter is weird. I only find it mildly amusing when famous quirky people write something. Lily Allen did a pretty inventive scavenger hunt thing for tickets using Twitter when she last went on tour. But is that about as far as it can be taken?
As long as you don't write about dreams, I'll keep reading. Man, I really hate seeing, "last night I had the weirdest dream... "

Humble suggestion
Discarded toys don't "float in the ether", at least not in my parish.
Maybe your crappy mixed metaphors are driving readers away?
Re: Humble suggestion
And I was being purposely over-the-top in tone.
Well, you're reading and commenting, so that makes you the chump, doesn't it?
Jog on.

I somehow figured I was getting abused by one of my own...

Dont sell yer arse all over the place. Fakebeaut is for wankers, just look at how many people you have or have wanted to delete from the 'friends list' for the constant flow of inane, unrighteous drivel that that they post. Be carefull who you are associated with. For prides sake alone.
Its not that Im actualy arsed about where you write. But your lyrics are much more suited to this place. Pick the pace back up. Let it flow hombre.
Scouser (no one reads me, but they all want to be me).
I think a lot more people read you than you think. It's just a bit of a ball ache to comment at your blog.
anyway, keep writing SOMEWHERE. i like to read.
